St. Vincent and Bequia

On the weekend of May 1-4 we travelled to see another country - St. Vincent and the Grenadines - and it was BEAUTIFUL. St. Vincent is the largest and main island in the nation - the rest of the country is a series of more than 30 small islands and cays. It is very popular for yachting and has some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen.

We spent the first day (Thursday) on St. Vincent as it was a national holiday (May Day) and therefore the ferry to Bequia wasn't running until that night. They filmed quite a bit of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies on St. Vincent and we went and had a beer at the spot where they filmed...

We also went to a small waterfall, which was complete with a tunnel under a tree....

That night we took the ferry to Bequia, which is the next biggest island, just south of St. Vincent. It's all of 7 square miles in size and has a population of 4,861!! So it was very quiet and relaxing - but still had several nice restaurants due to the large number of 'yachties' coming ashore.

This was the front entrance to our resort - which we were two of three people staying at! - it was the start of the down season!

This was our room. Real Nice!

With a fantastic view!!

Possibly one of the nicest hotel rooms either of us have ever stayed in.

And the beaches were fantastic!

Here was a boat which sums up the Caribbean!

The Belly is getting bigger!!!

The taxis were pickup trucks with awnings over top of them...

This was our last trip as just the two of us! And what a cute couple, eh?

An historic Sugar Mill that a very nice British couple have turned into a pottery studio.

One last beautiful beach!

Great to see an update! We've been wondering what you were up to and are now completely jealous (again!).
